Choosing the right playground equipment involves considering several key factors to ensure it meets the needs of your community, fits your space, and adheres to safety standards. Here are some steps and considerations to help you make the right choice:
1. Assess Your Space and Budget:- -Measure the available space to determine the size and type of equipment that can be accommodated.
- Establish a budget that includes not only the cost of equipment but also installation and ongoing maintenance.
2. Identify Your Audience: -Consider the age range and abilities of the children who will use the playground. Equipment that is exciting for older children may not be suitable for toddlers, and vice versa.
- Include accessible and inclusive play options for children with disabilities.
3. Determine Play Value and Types:- Choose equipment that promotes various types of play, such as physical (climbing, swinging), social (playhouses, group swings), sensory (sandboxes, water play), and imaginative (themed structures).
- Ensure there is a balance of activities that cater to different skills and interests.
4. Safety Standards and Materials:- - Ensure all equipment meets local and national safety standards, such as those from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
- Consider the durability and maintenance requirements of materials. Metals and plastics are durable and require less maintenance compared to wood.
5. Consult Community Needs: Engage with the community or target group to understand their preferences and needs.
Feedback from parents, schools, and children can be invaluable.
- Look at successful playgrounds in similar communities for inspiration.
6. Professional Advice: - Consulting with a playground designer or landscape architect can provide professional insights into the best use of your space and budget.
- They can also help design a playground that is aesthetically pleasing and fits well within its surroundings.
7. Long-Term Consideration:- Think about the longevity of the playground. Choosing equipment that can be easily updated or expanded can help maintain interest over time.
- Plan for regular inspections and maintenance to keep the playground safe and attractive for years to come.
By carefully considering these factors, you can choose playground equipment that is engaging, safe, and suitable for the children who will be using it, ensuring that it remains a cherished part of the community.
Choosing the right type of playground safety surfacing depends on several factors, including your budget, maintenance capabilities, and the specific needs of the playground environment. Here are some common types of surfacing and considerations for each:
1. Engineered Wood Fiber (Ewf): This is a cost-effective option that provides good shock absorption. It's made from processed wood designed to reduce the likelihood of injuries from falls. However, it requires regular maintenance to ensure the surface remains level and free of debris.
2. Rubber Mulch: Rubber mulch is another shock-absorbent option that requires less maintenance than wood fiber and lasts longer. It's also wheelchair accessible, unlike EWF. However, it can be more expensive.
3. Poured-In-Place Rubber: This is a seamless surface that offers excellent shock absorption and is highly customizable in terms of colors and designs. It's low maintenance and wheelchair accessible but can be one of the more costly options.
4. Rubber Tiles: These provide a uniform look and excellent durability. Rubber tiles are also wheelchair friendly and available in various colors. The initial cost is higher, but they are easier to replace in sections if damaged
5. Artificial Grass Or Turf: : Ideal for areas seeking a natural look without the upkeep of real grass. It provides moderate shock absorption and is relatively low maintenance, though it can be expensive.
When deciding, consider the playground's usage, such as the age range of children using it and the types of play equipment installed. Different surfaces meet different critical fall height requirements. Consulting with a playground safety expert can also help tailor the choice to your specific needs, ensuring that the surfacing meets all safety standards and fits within your project budget.

Answer: Because Infinite Recreation relies on automation and consistency to reduce costs which are then passed onto you (the customer) via savings we opted to reduce the risk of non-payment or late payment cases. While this is normally a small percentage of cases, late payment or nonpayment can be very costly and time consuming. With traditional business models, these ancillary unknows are ultimately expenses that other customers end of having to bare the burden of,
through increased pricing. This is similar to retail costs where both losses due to theft and loss prevention security measures are calculated into the increased price for the consumer. All that we are doing here with limiting payment options is creating a limited risk system to ensuring that there will be no additional expenses related to collections, loss and bad debt. Since Infinite Recreation is not a bank, it is important that we maintain separation from activities that are akin to banking such as loans. For that we also offer third party solutions to finance your project if that is something that you are interested in.
Infinite Recreation requires full payment since every playground is made to order and when further customized, each playground can be different from the next that another customer orders, so with higher ticket items such as these in a niche market that is commercial recreation equipment, it makes it very challenging to resell a playground that has already been manufactured if the order is later cancelled. Added to this challenge, there is also the issue of storing the playground until it is resold, which can cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars every month. Offloading and reloading at a secondary location can also add to the cost. Something else that is important to think about: Our playgrounds are priced between 10% to as much as 80% less than fair market value. If Infinite Recreation is offering a $50,000 playground and another company is offering a similar playground that is 33% more at $75,000 and requires a 75% deposit, this will come out to be $56,000 which is still more than that $50,000 at 100% for the payment required by Infinite Recreation. In this case the risk on your part is still greater because the deposit total is relative to the total cost of the playground. The point is; it is more important that you know who you are doing business with, do your due diligence, than to base your decision solely on the percentage of payment that is required with the order. For Infinite Recreation, our reputation is paramount so the motivation to both deliver on our promise including supporting our product for the life of the playground (20+years), extends far much further than just the delivery. Infinite Recreation doesn’t accept any and every order. When you place your order, our automated system will run a risk analysis which with then be delivered to an Order Processing Specialist (OPS) for manual review. The OPS will carefully review the order along with the organization that has placed the order to ensure that the relationship will be a good fit. If the review results in a positive match then we will accept the order and process accordingly. If the review results in a negative match then the order will be rejected
Infinite Recreation does not directly provide installation services however we can provide an estimate that includes installation for budgeting purposes. We understand that installation of the playground is essential and so our bridge solution for this is: After you submit your full order, we will provide access to at least 3 installers that have been screened and are experienced with commercial playground equipment construction. Most distributors in this industry utilize independent subcontractors so the quality of the service will be equal or better than another distributor that utilizes subcontractors. The added benefit to what we offer is a savings that is up to 40% off of the cost of ordering installation through a distributor that subcontracts the work out.
Our network of experiences installers is unique and extensive. It has required a great deal of time and money to develop so we consider it a proprietary asset that is reserved for paying customers. While we provide access to the installers free of charge, it is also considered an added benefit to the purchase of the playground. Another reason why we limit access to the installers is so that non-paying customers won’t fill up their schedule which would create scarcity and likely also drive up the cost of installation which is counterintuitive to what we are trying to do.
Infinite Recreation does not sell safety surfacing at this time. We will provide access to at least 3 suppliers for the 5 primary types of safety surfacing after purchase. The 5 types of safety surfacing are: Wood fiber, Rubber Mulch, Poured in Place Rubber, Rubber Tiles and Playground Turf.
